NEW SINGLE RELEASE
As I shared in my last newsletter, Spring 2020 marks the 20th Anniversary of my debut CD release, “Late Bloomer”! To commemorate this hallmark, I am now releasing the single, “A STRANGE KIND OF BEAUTY”. Written by myself and arranged by Bill Runge, this poignant song is finally being released 20 years later, with the hope that its message of the possibility of experiencing a strange kind of beauty at times and in places least expected, will resonate in these troubled times.
The Celtic inspired melody reaches into my Irish roots and speaks of the strength and beauty of letting go. This new version has been beautifully re-mastered by Juno award – winning producer Chris Gestrin from the original by Juno award – winning producer, Rick Kilburn. Lucky me! I just love sinking into the piano and violin interplay between Jesse Zubot and Miles Black. đ
LOOKING BACK
In the spring of 2000 at age 44, I felt beyond excited and vulnerable waiting to go on stage at Rossini’s Jazz Club, for the first time. That was a HUGE leap. The response from the sold-out crowd was overwhelming in a wonderful way! I was so lucky to be supported by some of Vancouverâs finest musicians. (See top picture). In addition to my sense of personal accomplishment, I did what I set out to do. And that was to honour my familyâs musical legacy, notably my late father John McCullough and my late brother, Murray.
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!
My new single “A STRANGE KIND OF BEAUTY” is now available for preview and purchase.
Any purchase of my CDs and/or downloads help me. Especially this Friday, May 1st, when my distributor bandcamp will be waiving their service fee. They are generously offering this gesture for the next few months to support independent musicians during this time. Cool huh? All for now. Please stay safe everyone!
May you find strange beauty in your lives.
Love & Light,
Christie Grace
